Meet Stopwatch app for iPhone and iPad

It was designed for use at track meets, where a timer needs to watch for the smoke from the starting pistol. Other stopwatch apps have small start and stop buttons, making them unusable without looking closely at the screen. This apps ease of use makes it ideal for timing cross-country meets, swim meets, or indeed anything.

The stopwatch has three different modes. By default, it is in Simple Mode. Lap/Split Mode allows you to capture lap and split times. Multiple Racer Mode allows you to capture the times of multiple racers in quick succession.
